Kids love to learn through TV shows and there are some great ones out there. If you want to introduce your kids to science and get them to like it, then these are some great shows to try out.
1. Sid the Science Kid: This cartoon is very modern and targeted at the younger kid set. There are some amazing ways of teaching fundamental science lessons that are used throughout the show. This helps to create a very positive and enjoyable view of science and ensures that kids will be interested for years to come. Something as fundamental as electricity is taught, but in a way that preschoolers can understand and appreciate. As the show follows Sid and his friends, the storyline is easy to understand and yet very educational.

2. Mr. Wizard: He was the pioneer of teaching kids about science and therefore will always remain at the top of the list. You can find his shows in syndication and this is a great way to introduce children to the many wonders of science. He took a very real and yet very approachable view to science and made kids enjoy what they were learning. Since science is not always the most likable subject, he created a gentler view and paved the way for the modern shows.

3. Dragon Fly: This follows along with real life science lessons in an everyday setting. This is targeted at school aged children and may be a little harder for toddlers to understand, but it works well for its target audience. The kids are just like your own and the lessons are easy for this age group to understand. Since it is kids that are creating the stories and the experiments, it can be something that your own children can easily identify with.

4. Bill Nye the Science Guy: He has been called the “modern day Mr. Wizard” and yet he has created a following all his own. He has spent his life teaching children (and adults) all about science and has performed countless experiments to demonstrate his findings. He is very passionate about science and he enjoys educating others on his show, and that shines through. The way in which he shows science to be is very approachable and fun and that’s why kids love to watch.

5. Crash! Bang! Splat! : This is a very fun and sometimes silly approach to science, and that may work perfectly for introducing kids of all ages. They have fun little experiments and they challenge kids to get out in their own backyard and check things out for themselves. This was actually created by kids for kids and therefore this is a really fun and unique approach to the lessons that science holds for kids.

Science isn’t always a popular theme with kids. These shows make science fun and approachable and therefore are great for introducing kids to the subject.
